Titou (Ti-Tou) Gorge, the outlet of Freshwater Lake, is reached by a short walk and a bit of wading, swimming, slipping, and sliding. The trail to Boiling Lake and the Valley of Desolation starts at the gorge, near the power plant in Laudat. When you get there, you ll find a deep pool fed by hot springs at the base of a canyon caused by lava cracking as it cooled.
